Journal of AHIMA Receives ASBPE Gold Award

The American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE) has awarded the Journal of AHIMA an award for editorial excellence.

The article “Sorting Out Advance Directives” by Chris Dimick received a Gold award for feature article in the Midwest-South region. The article, which covered the legal requirements for accessing another person’s health records, was published in January 2011.

ASBPE is the professional association for full-time and freelance editors, writers, art directors, and designers employed in the business, trade, and specialty press. ASBPE’s competition recognizes the hard work and commitment of business and professional magazine, newsletter, and Web editors and designers.

These awards are a prestigious acknowledgement that publications have met high standards of excellence and are at the top of the profession. ASBPE’s contest is extremely competitive and one of the largest US business publication competitions. A list of the finalists in the 2012 competition is available here.
