In a landslide 392 to 37 vote, the US House of Representatives this morning passed legislation that provides a permanent replacement to the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) that has vexed healthcare providers for more than a decade. The bill, H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act, did not include any references to ICD-10 implementation or an ICD-10 delay.
The Committee on Energy and Commerce’s Health Subcommittee met last week to begin discussion on legislation that last year included language that delayed ICD-10-CM/PCS implementation to October 1, 2015.
On Tuesday President Obama signed into law a bill that requires the federal goverment to delay the adoption of ICD-10-CM/PCS for at least one year.
