Celebrating 85 Years of AHIMA, and its Magazine

This year marks the 85th anniversary of AHIMA’s founding as the Association of Record Librarians of North America in 1928. The association has seen many changes to the health information management profession over the years, which has been directly reflected in its various name changes. Covering all the workforce and technological developments through the years has been the association’s flagship magazine, the Journal of AHIMA, this year celebrating its 84th year in print. To help celebrate AHIMA’s milestone, below is a selection of Journal of AHIMA iterations from each decade since AHIMA was founded. Though the cover style may have changed with the times, the magazine’s mission has remained the same — provide the healthcare industy with the most up-to-date and accurate information on health information management.
