  1. The “Anatomy of a Physician Coder” (in the November-December 2012 issue)is the perfect explanation of the work that our Compliance and Education Department does for our medium physician practice. We have many new guidelines for 2013. It seems as if each payer is adding a different set of rules–payers are not just following the Medicare example any longer; and when ICD-10 is added to the mix, the learning curve will be phenomenal for everyone involved. Kudos to Lisa A. Eramo for her information. I plan to share it with my co-workers as well as my fellow physician coders!
